Sasquatch is a jolly fellow. Here's a cryptid poem to get you in the holiday spirit!

'Twas 18 months before Squatch Camp, when all through the council,
Not a troop was stirring, not even a Scout.
Program was being planned by volunteers with care,
In hopes that Sasquatch soon would be there.

Soon the beast on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the excitement of Squatch Camp to all who would go.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear
But a large, hairy creature at Camp Seph Mack so dear.

The monster promised mystery and intrigue so grand,
And away all Scouts went to a mystical land.
For in 2024, all adventurers would soon see
How Sasquatch was real and how fun camping could be!

Poem Parody by Eric Zavinski

FAQs
The J. Sephus Mack Center for Sasquatch Research at Camp Seph Mack 2024 is a resident camp program with unique adventure and advancement offerings.  The planning committee for this adventure is world-class and all they need is you and your scouts!  As this is a completely different program, information will be released on a regular basis, but there may be changes as the program evolves.  We ask for your patience, and welcome suggestions to improve communications and program for the event.

Q:          When is camp at Camp Seph Mack in 2024?
A:           June 23-29, 2024

Q:          Will this be a resident camp program?
A:           Yes!  It is a 7-day/6-night program.

Q:          Who can attend?
A:           Any registered member of a Scouts BSA Troop, Venturing Crew or Sea Scout Ship may participate in the program.  Please note since this camp does not happen until the summer of 2024, currently registered Webelos and Arrow of Light youth will be Scouts BSA in time for this camp.

Q:          I have heard that the Scouts will not earn merit badges, is that true?
A:           No.  Scouts will earn merit badges which will be woven into the program.  The difference with this program is that Scouts will sign up a “Track” rather than individual merit badge classes.  This enables the set-up of the program to be engaging to the youth, while providing opportunities for merit badge work and rank advancement requirements.

Q:          What is a Track?
A:           Tracks are being developed to cover certain requirements (i.e., first-year camper, advanced camper) in an engaging fashion.  Rather than just show up for a merit badge class, Scouts will work on select requirements which are tied into the specific track while hunting for sasquatch.  While the program team hasn’t finalized the tracks yet, they are working on things that will provide an engaging experience for ALL youth who attend, regardless of how many times they have attended Summer Camp.
