This month at THRIVE: Our training calendar (above) includes volunteer orientation on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. We offer 2 four-hour blocks of crisis response training, with the first occurring on April 15. We meet for mentorship meetings on Wednesdays. The April social will be announced in Slack and email invites will be sent out shortly.

Mentorship training program: April marks the beginning of our formal mentorship training program (shoutout to Breni, Destiny, Schuyler, Jennifer, Grayson, Stephanie, and Ash who all made this program possible!). Our comprehensive 16-week program provides trainees with hands-on experience, shadowing and co-mentoring with experienced mentors. Mentor trainees learn how to meet people where they are and tailor learning to their own mentees' needs. THRIVE values the authentic connection and personalized support that our mentorship offers, as we elevate and empower each learner. We're excited to increase access to affirming mentorship development opportunities!

Are you trans or nonbinary, or questioning your gender, and seeking community? We've got a discord channel just for you.
The TRANS Discord is moderated by THRIVE volunteers and home to about 130 other trans / nonbinary / agender people. Join us and chat about gender or anything else you want to!
We've also got free affirmation cards we're mailing out to anyone who is interested! Just fill out the form once you have joined the server. We've sent out 40 cards in this past month, and still have 30 left to send before they run out!

We will:
- Meet you where you are as a student who experiences marginalization
- Empower you and give you undeniable professional experience
- Equip you with the skills to directly impact the lives of others who may share your intersecting identities and experiences.
Applications close on May 26, 2023 and will be reviewed on a rolling basis. The internship will run from August 20, 2023 to August 17, 2024, with a total stipend of $4500. On average, RECRUITs can expect to work approximately 6 hours per week for 50 weeks.
Whatever your experience level, we welcome you and are honored to grow alongside you.
