From your friends at NAMI Montgomery County, we hope your year is off to a great start and that caring for your mental wellbeing made it to the top of your list of intentions or resolutions for the new year! If you need some support, you may find one of our programs helpful. Below you can find information on our support groups and other programs.

In 2023, NAMI Montgomery County will celebrate 35 years of advocacy, education, and support. We have so much planned for this year and hope to connect with you along the way!

Volunteer with us.

Have you attended one of NAMI's support groups or classes and feel you might be ready and able to provide support to others as a volunteer? Our biggest needs are:
  • Peer-to-Peer instructors / NAMI Peer-to-Peer is a class for adults with mental health conditions. 
  • Basics instructors / NAMI Basics is a class for parents, guardians and other family caregivers who provide care for youth experiencing mental health symptoms. 
  • Family Support Group facilitators / A support group for family members, significant others and friends of people with mental health conditions. 
  • Administrative/office volunteers / Folding and labeling brochures
  • Community representatives / Represent NAMI Montgomery County at information tables and community events.

Postpartum depression is different than a temporary mood disturbance after childbirth. Symptoms, if left untreated, can continue long past childbirth. Mental health conditions are the leading cause of maternal mortality so It is vital that healthcare professionals, expecting and new parents, and their loved ones are aware of the signs and symptoms of postpartum mood disorders.
