New year, new bike?
We have a range of refurbished bikes at affordable prices available.

The turning of the year is often a time for resolutions and new habits. If you're planning to cycle more this year, whether to get around, or for fun or fitness... you might need a new bike. Or maybe your have a child who has outgrown a bike and needs something bigger?

Whatever you're looking for, email accessbike@cscic.org or message us on Instagram or Facebook Messenger and we can discuss our stock with you, or arrange a time for you to visit for a browse. Pictured are eight refurbished bikes of various types we currently have in stock for sale, but we also have others for sale or nearly ready for sale, and a range of donated bikes we could allocate to you and fix up over the next few months - potentially with you if you fancy that.

We use the funds we raise from sales to fund the project, but try to keep the bikes affordably priced too. We can potentially take old bikes in 'part exchange' and you can also 'earn a bike' by volunteering with us and fixing up other bikes for a number of ours equivalent to the value of the bike you're after. Get in touch if you have any questions.

You might also be looking to donate an old bike - please send us an email/message us here with a picture and we can let you know if it's something we can use and arrange a time for you to drop it off (please don't just dump bikes outside our workshop).

Happy New Year, and happy cycling!

#MarketRide mass bike ride this Saturday 7th January

Cargo Bikes of Stroud organises a monthly #MarketRide every first Saturday of the month! Cyclists meet at 10am at Brimscombe Mills (home of The Long Table, Stroud District Kids' Stuff and Stroud District and Cirencester Furniture Bank). Our friends at The Bike Drop (who are also based on the site) provide a free tea/coffee/children's drink, and the crew sets off at 10.30am for a ride along the A419 to The Electric Bike Shop Stroud and #Stroud Farmers' Market.

The group rides as a block to protect young and less confident riders on the inside, and ride at the speed of the slowest rider. The idea is to bring local cyclists together, to celebrate cycling, have fun, and push for better cycling infrastructure on this route and around the Stroud District.

The idea is to have a monthly celebration of cycling, bring cyclists together, and push for better cycling infrastructure. There's always a few cargo and/or electric bikes, so between 10am and 10.30am there's a chance to ask other riders about their bikes - and maybe even try something out.

James from Access Bike will be there - will you?

Did you miss our Christmas Party? Check out our 60 second video

To celebrate the end of the year, we held a small part at the Access Bike community bike workshop. We borrowed a reverse-steerer bike, raced mini-bikes, and got the jumps out... Santa* came along and took part in an Evil Knievel style stunt with Callum, and came second to Rowan in the staff mini-bike race.

Emily Harper, a teacher at Archway School, has completed a sponsored solstice 24 hour cycle to raise money to fund bikes for students at the secondar school, and the skills in order to maintain them. We are teaming up with her to facilitate this.

Emily has raised £680 so far - much more than her initial target of £250. But if you'd like to donate, you still can - all funds raised will go towards bike helmets, consumable bike parts and bike mechanic skills sessions at Access Bike.

We are closing in on £3,000 or 60% of our £5,000 target. Thanks to the money raised so far we have already funded 14 to go on a a 3-night camping trip, and have started distributing the first sets of bike kits.

We welcome donations of any size - thanks for your support!
